According to the American Heart Association, every 26 seconds an American has a coronary incident and every 60 seconds someone dies from one. The "Heart Ready" program offered by the City provides both hands-only CPR and AED classes to Johns Creek residents.
CPR is an emergency procedure in which the heart and lungs are made to work by manually compressing the chest overlying the heart and forcing air into the lungs. CPR is used to maintain circulation when the heart stops pumping, usually because of disease, drugs, or trauma.
Participants must be at least 12 years old and Johns Creek residents. The class holds up to 30 people. See the date listed below for the available class and time.
Classes are taught at Fire Station 62, 10925 Rogers Circle, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
